deviantlySurreal Members and watchers as you have most likely noticed, throughout the past few years this group has been fairly inactive. The group was founded 6 years ago, by myself with the idea of creating an online magazine to support and promote the surreal artists of dA. Along with the help of fudaryli we created 2 issues..... and then we hit a slump as other projects, and life happened.
We originally used the groups system format as we felt it would be beneficial to managing the magazine (Like being able to read group related notes and comments in our message centers instead of having to log into a separate account) and may even open up new possibilities in the future.
I have kept this group open in the hopes of reviving it and the magazine in the future. Now, 6 years later it is still suspended in the either of of dA. I am writing today to inquire to those who may have an interest in managing this group and also to reinstating the magazine. I prefer someone who can also continue to create the magazine.
If you are so inclined please message me on my personal account gloriagypsy with your interest, your background and your proposal. I have no time, and really no interest in this project anymore however, I do not want to see what we have accomplished go to waste. I believe that this project can still be the beautiful way to support and promote the fantastic surrealists of dA.

An Incomplerte and Inaccurate History of Surreal
The Nature Of Surrealism
This is my first attempt to write about surrealism as opposed to writing something surrealist. Slanted, comatose panglossian sword a lad would be in appropriate querulousness. And so I imagined Socrates asking some soi-disant expert, “What is the nature of Surrealism?”
Surrealism is a deeply trivial, absurdly serious artistic movement. Its father was a hobby horse and its mother was the human subconscious. As a literary movement it grew out of Dadaism which was anti fine art and anti rationalist aesthetics, having just witnessed the failure of the civilisation that revered such things on the battlefi
#deviantlySurreal's sleep engenders nightmares
Yes, #deviantlySurreal is sleeping... but, unusually, it doesn't seem to be dreaming.
I submitted a fairly long text to the magazine by way of an 'article' on surrealism some time last year expecting it to appear in the magazine at some stage. It never happened. Of course, the article was no more than a Jonathon Meades style canter through the field, more or less opining that surrealism was a deeply trivial affair that died some time in the 1940s or 50s, only to be resurrected in advertising, popular music videos, film, and the covers and even texts of science fiction novels, particularly those of J.G.Ballard... http://aegiandyad.deviantart.
